Artist Betsabeé Romero explores soccer as a medium for community, cultural exchange, and migration at the San Diego Museum of Art. Drawing on her Mexican heritage, she connects modern soccer culture to the ancient Mesoamerican ballgame. The display features engraved tires, mirrored balls, and woven nets created alongside artisans in Tijuana to examine shared traditions, labor, and movement across borders.
