Garuda in Bali is on view at Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, San Francisco, United States, until January 4, 2027.
This exhibition at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco explores the epic story and spiritual significance of Garuda, the part-human, part-bird protector deity and national symbol of Indonesia. Traditional late 19th- and early 20th-century Balinese paintings and wooden carvings illustrate his legendary adventures, heroic loyalty, and devotion to his mother and the Hindu god Vishnu.
