Georgia O’Keeffe: Architecture

This exhibition at the Detroit Institute of Arts displays around 35 architectural paintings created by Georgia O’Keeffe between the 1920s and 1960s. Applying her characteristic abstract approach to manmade environments, the artist captured subjects ranging from New York skyscrapers and country barns to Southwestern adobe residences, demonstrating how geometry, line, and color shaped her depictions of her physical surroundings.
