The Menil Collection presents a multi-screen moving-image installation by British artist Sir John Akomfrah. The 51-minute work examines mid-century Civil Rights movement activism across the American South led by young people. Through his six-channel video presentation, Akomfrah explores how nonviolent demonstrations, marches, boycotts, and voter campaigns were used to pursue racial equality.
