Kate Mitchell In the Eye of the Giant

The Art Gallery of New South Wales displays a moving-image commission by artist Kate Mitchell. Presented on a large screen as a slowly climbing digital scroll, the continuously looping video features hundreds of ink drawings made during a 28-day meditation on seven emotional states. The vertical arrangement connects with historical traditions of illuminated manuscripts while encouraging viewers to reflect on their own feelings.
