Layered Terrain: Art in Atlantic Canada, 1890–1940

This exhibition explores how twentieth-century American artists, particularly those connected to Maine, depicted Atlantic Canada. Through paintings, prints, maps, and tourist brochures, the display highlights themes ranging from coastal towns and wilderness landscapes to local industries. Works by U.S. modernists and realists appear alongside pieces by Canadian and Wabanaki creators to present a cross-cultural perspective on the region.
