This exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art highlights Henri Matisse's 28 lithographic portraits made for John-Antoine Nau's book of poetry, *Poésies Antillaises*. Drawing inspiration from a visit to Martinique, Matisse created images that complement Nau's poems about travel and oceanic landscapes. The display also features works by Caribbean artists Germaine Casse and Serge Hélénon, illustrating transatlantic creative networks during the late French colonial era.
