Reading the Room

This exhibition at the Birmingham Museum of Art examines how physical spaces and gallery environments influence how visitors experience art. Focusing on twentieth-century prints, drawings, and installations, it shows how creators shifted from depicting architectural moods to actively transforming built surroundings. Featured artists include Stuart Davis, Mavis Pusey, Sam Gilliam, Jo Sandman, and Royal Robertson.
