The Cleveland Museum of Art presents a video work by Sky Hopinka exploring how landscape, memory, and spoken language shape Indigenous identity. The piece focuses on the Unangax̂ people of Alaska's Pribilof Islands, combining footage of Saint Paul Island with reflections from an elder and students practicing the Unangam Tunuu language. Hopinka uses layered visual techniques to blend images of the environment with human voices.
