The Banner Project: Joiri Minaya is on view at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Boston, United States, until June 21, 2027.

Artist Joiri Minaya challenges stereotypical depictions of tropical regions and the commodification of Black and Brown women's identities. Presented at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, her installation layers images from popular culture, art history, and the internet. Minaya links modern tourism to historic colonial fantasies while using visual techniques like masking and mesh fabrics to resist reductive tropes.
