Wall to Wall: Christopher Myers

New York-based artist Christopher Myers presents a large-scale textile installation created specifically for the lobby of the Birmingham Museum of Art. Inspired by local land and history, the work explores steelworkers, labor, and the connections between the steel and cotton industries. Myers incorporates mythic figures like Vulcan and the Golem alongside feminist theory to examine how human bodies represent labor.
