Cézanne, and everyone who came after
Seventy Cézannes beside a hundred-odd works by the painters who claimed him — Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso, Mondrian, Joan Mitchell, Bridget Riley — at the Grand Palais from September 23.
This is not another Cézanne retrospective; it is the argument for why he mattered, made with the paintings that prove it. The Pompidou, Orsay and Orangerie are all lending, which is why the checklist runs this deep. Timed tickets have been on sale since July — book those before the flight.
Cezanne et nous
An exhibition at the Grand Palais organised by GrandPalaisRmn, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Orsay/Musée de l'Orangerie, presenting a rich dialogue between Paul Cézanne's work and the artists who found artistic freedom through his influence. Approximately 180 works are displayed, including 70 by Cézanne.
